OK. I guess I am missing something. classicarms.us has the same caliber (granted its different ammo), for 1260 rounds for $280. Shouldnt that be a much better deal?

I believe those have been out of stock since 12-10-08. I'm looking everywhere for 7.62.... Nada.

PLUS the Yugo is corrosive, the Wolf is not. Granted, the Yugo is supposed to have better stopping power, but one of the joys of owning an AK is minimal maintenance.

Shipping @ 3 and a half per cent for me, but no tax. Not so hefty. Still a good deal.

Clean your gun, it's not THAT bad. It needs a cleaning no matter what you fire. The Hugo is reloadable and the wolf is not. Even better deal.

Re: looking for ammo? I suggest you get what you can

The Yugo ammo uses a corrosive Berdan primer. The brass case can be reloaded, but it is not as simple a procedure as reloading a standard boxer primed case is. Popping the spent Berdan primers out of the brass cannot be done with standard depriming/resizing dies. A quick Google search will show a few improvised techniques, none, though, are super fast and easy. It is also possible to modify the brass to accept Boxer primers, with several additional steps, or to just reprime with Berdan, though you'd need a resizing die with no deprimer pin to do that. I've read Berdan primed brass is only good for 4-5 reloads before the anvil in the brass will no longer ignite the primers. I wouldn't buy the Yugo ammo with the intent to reload unless you are very experienced, and have more time then money. Boxer primed 7.62 ammo and brass does exist and is out there, but certainly not at the price the Yugo sells for.

All I said was that it is reloadable. And it is. True that most reloading equipment is set up to cater to boxer, but decapping tool is available for Berdan and once the first military primer is removed, it becomes easier and faster. I know someone who has the tools and does it.

Only 5 reloads? How many does steel offer? Corrosive? Clean the gun. Finding caps is a challenge but it is available. It stores well also and arguably fires better.

Everyone does not have to reload it if they don't want to, but it is indeed reloadable. IMO the horror stories come from either people who have read about it or given up easily. Or are just plain set in their ways.
